Die Veranstaltung Theories and Concepts of Health Economics zielt darauf ab, die Studierenden in die theoretischen und konzeptionellen Grundlagen der Gesundheitsökonomie einzuführen und ihnen basale Kenntnisse der ökonomischen Rahmenbedingungen und Strukturvarianten von Gesundheitssystemen zu vermitteln. Außerdem sollen die Studierenden befähigt werden, sich mit speziellen theoretischen Konzepten der Gesundheitsökonomie auseinanderzusetzen: Sie sollen die Markt- und Regulierungstheorie im Gesundheitssystem und vor allem mikroökonomische Konzepte des Marktverhaltens kennen- und verstehen lernen. Ein weiteres Ziel besteht darin, Kenntnisse der verschiedenen Finanzierungsoptionen gesundheitlicher Leistungen in Krankenversicherungssystemen zu vermitteln.
