Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung soll die Anwendung verschiedener multivariater Verfahren mittels des Statistikpakets SPSS eingeübt werden. Hierbei wird das jeweilige Verfahren kurz theoretisch skizziert, um dann anhand mehrerer Beispieldatensätze aus verschiedenen Fachgebieten den Studierenden die Möglichkeit zu geben, die jeweiligen Verfahren selbstständig durchzuführen. In der Veranstaltung werden die Varianzanalyse (ANOVA, ANOVA mit Messwiederholung, MANOVA, a priori Kontraste, post-hoc Tests), die univariate und multivariate multiple Regression (inkl. verschiedener Arten der Interaktions- und Dummy-Codierung), die logistische Regression, die Faktorenanalyse (explorativ und konfirmatorisch), die Clusteranalyse und die Diskriminanzanalyse thematisiert. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an fortgeschrittene Studierende, welche die Grundausbildung in Statistik abgeschlossen haben. Sie eignet sich sehr gut als methodische Vorbereitung für empirische Diplom- und Masterarbeiten.
