Das Thema des Seminars ist die numerische Loesung unbestimmter
nichtlinearer reeller Gleichungssysteme. Im Seminar behandeln wir
vorwiegend den Fall, dass eine Gleichung weniger als Unbekannte vorliegt,
so dass sich die Loesungsmengen i. a. aus Kurven zusammensetzen.
Man spricht dann auch von einem Verzweigungsproblem.
In den Vortraegen werden Verfahren dargestellt, um Loesungskurven
in systematischer Weise zu verfolgen und dabei sog. kritische Punkte
bzw. Verzweigungspunkte zu detektieren. Wir studieren die
Konvergenzeigenschaften dieser Verfahren und diskutieren eine Reihe
von praktischen Anwendungen.Das Seminar eignet sich als Einstieg in weiterfuehrende numerische
Fragestellungen im Anschluss an eine Vorlesung Numerik I.
Vorausgesetzt werden Kenntnisse der Anfaengervorlesungen und einer
Vorlesung Numerik I. Fuer einige Vortraege mit praktischen Anwendungen
sind Kenntnisse einer Programmiersprache bzw. des Systems MATLAB
wuenschenswert.
