Das Seminar widmet sich einem Klassiker der modernen Literatur: Marcel Prousts „Du côté de chez Swann“ (dt. „Unterwegs zu Swann“), dem ersten Band von Prousts siebenteiligem Roman „A la recherche du temps perdu“ (dt. „Auf der Suche nach der verlorenen Zeit“).
In einer intensiven Lektüre des Primärtextes wollen wir uns diesem monumentalen Werk der modernen Literaturgeschichte schrittweise annähern. Zum Abschluss werden wir einen Blick auf die Rezeptionsgeschichte des Textes werfen.

Wir werden den Roman in deutscher Sprache lesen und besprechen; eine Parallellektüre des französischen Originaltextes ist sehr willkommen, aber keine Voraussetzung zur Seminarteilnahme.
Zur Anschaffung wird empfohlen: Marcel Proust, Auf der Suche nach der verlorenen Zeit 1: Unterwegs zu Swann, aus dem Französischen übersetzt von Eva Rechel-Mertens, revidiert von Luzius Keller, Suhrkamp: Frankfurt a.M., 10. Auflage 2020.
