Die Vorlesung behandelt das Sachenrecht, das im wesentlichen im Dritten Buch des BGB kodifiziert ist. Das Sachenrecht enthält die Regeln, aus denen sich ergibt, welche Rechte die Personen an Sachen haben können. Im Sachenrecht kommt vor allem die Grundentscheidung unserer Rechtsordnung zum Ausdruck, dass der Eigentümer einer Sache frei über ihre Nutzung und Verwertung bestimmen kann. Eingeführt wird in das Recht der beweglichen Sachen und das Recht der Grundstücke sowie in die das gesamte Gebiet beherrschenden allgemeinen Grundsätze. Besonderes Gewicht liegt auf Kreditsicherungsmitteln wie Eigentumsvorbehalt, Sicherungsübereignung und den Grundpfandrechten.
Es besteht die Möglichkeit eine Aufsichtsarbeit nach § 21 Abs. 2 lit. StudO 2003 zu schreiben. Voraussetzung ist nach § 21 Abs. 3 StudO 2003 die rechtzeitige Anmeldung beim Prüfungsausschuss.
