Im Allgemeinen handelt es sich bei Zeitreihen um diskrete Daten mit einer zeitlichen Anordnung, wie wiederholt abgetastete Sensorwerte, Audiosignale oder Videosequenzen. Anwendungen der zugehörigen Modellierungs- und Analysetechniken finden sich unter Anderem in Teilgebieten der Informatik wie z. B. Robotik oder der Interaktionsanalyse.
Innerhalb des Seminars werden alle Teilnehmer zu jeweils einem ausgewählten Buchkapitel oder Paper einen Vortrag mit anschließender Diskussion halten. Zu der zu erbringenden Leistung gehört auch eine schriftliche Ausarbeitung zum Vortragsthema und eventuell die (teilweise) Realisierung des ausgewählten Verfahrens in einem Demonstrationsprogramm.
Im Seminar behandeln wir zunächst grundlegende Themen wie einführende Definitionen, stochastische Prozesse, stochastische und deterministische Modellierung. Im zweiten Teil geht es um Anwendungen auf Probleme aus den Bereichen Robotik und Interaktionsanalyse.
