Die Reihenfolge von Konstituenten ist in manchen Sprachen der Welt viel freier als in anderen. Im Deutschen, zum Beispiel, ist sie relativ frei: vgl. „Anna schickt ihrer Freundin das Paket.“, „Anna schickt das Paket ihrer Freundin.“ und „Das Paket schickt Anna ihrer Freundin.“
Wir untersuchen in diesem Kurs, was diesen Varianten zu Grunde liegt und wie sie mit anderen Modulen der Grammatik interagieren, zum Beispiel, inwiefern sie verschiedene Interpretationen zulassen und was für pragmatische Effekte sie zeigen. Der empirische Fokus liegt auf der Grammatik des Deutschen, wir behandeln aber auch ähnliche Phänomene in anderen Sprachen. Studierende lernen dadurch einen Aspekt der deutschen Syntax aus verschiedenen Perspektiven zu untersuchen.
