Die Verwendung von LaTeX/XeTeX ist eine elegante Möglichkeit, eine wissenschaftliche Arbeit anzufertigen. Es gibt einige gute Gründe dafür, warum man dieses einem WYSIWYG-Textverarbeitungsprogramm wie OpenOffice Writer bzw. Microsoft Word vorziehen sollte. Davon abgesehen, daß die Software kostenfrei ist, ermöglicht sie es dem Anwender, ein gutstrukturiertes Dokument mit professionellem Textsatz zu produzieren, dessen Eleganz mit einem WYSIWYG-Textverarbeitungsprogramm nie erreicht werden kann. Der besondere Vorteil im wissenschaftlichen Umfeld besteht darin, daß der Autor eines Dokuments sich vollständig auf den Inhalt seiner Arbeit konzentrieren kann und LaTeX/XeTeX sich um Strukturierung, Formatierung, Textsatz sowie Bibliographieverzeichnis der Arbeit kümmert.
Dieser Kurs vermittelt die Grundlagen, die zur Erstellung einer Seminar- bzw. Bachelor-/Masterarbeit mit LaTeX/XeTeX notwendig sind.
Ein eigener Rechner mit Zugang zum Universitätsnetzwerk wird für den Kurs benötigt.
