Im Mittelpunkt des Seminars steht die betriebliche Weiterbildung. Hier geht es zunächst um Grundlagen der Personalentwicklung. Insbesondere aktuelle theoretische Ansätze und Praxis der Personalentwicklung sollen beleuchtet werden. Als besondere Zielgruppe werden die Führungskräfte in den Blick genommen, hier werden aktuelle Ansätze der Mitarbeiterführung und -förderung besondere Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt.

Eine detaillierte Literaturliste mit weiterführender Literatur wird zu Beginn des Seminars verteilt und besprochen. Zur Vorbereitung des Seminars wird empfohlen Pielorz, Mona (Hg.) (2009): Personalentwicklung und Mitarbeiterführung in Weiterbildungseinrichtungen.. Bielefeld: Bertelsmann (Studientexte für Erwachsenenbildung).
