Anhand eines Lehrbuches werden die genetischen, physiologischen und zeltbiologischen Ursachen von Erkrankungen vorgestellt. Anhand von Beispielen (Herz-Kreislauf Erkrankungen, Krebs, Infektionserkrankungen) wird die Rolle der molekularen Biowissenschaften für die Medizin erarbeitet. Wesentliche Lehrinhalte sind:
genetische Grundlagen von Erkrankungen
physiologische Grundlagen von Zellen, Organen und des Menschen
zeltbiologische Ursachen von Erkrankungen
molekulare Ursachen von Herz-Kreislauf Erkrankungen und Krebs
molekulare Infektionsbiologie
moderne Ansätze der Diagnostik und Pathologie
Werkstoffforschung und Arzneimittel
Requirements for participation, required level

Es wird erwartet, dass das Lehrbuch "Kurreck & Stein "Molecular Medicine" 2015 Wiley-VCH" vor Beginn der Veranstaltung gelesen wurde. Das Lehrbuch ist online über die UB verfügbar.
