Die Veranstaltung baut auf der Vorlesung IPR I auf und dient dazu, die erworbenen Kenntnisse anhand von praktischen Fällen zu vertiefen. Im Zentrum stehen die besonderen Lehren des Internationalen Privatrechts. Das Themenspektrum schließt das Internationale Vertrags-, Sachen- und Deliktsrecht ebenso ein wie das Internationale Familien-, Erb- und Gesellschaftsrecht. Ein besonderes Augenmerk gilt den Entwicklungen auf Gemeinschaftsebene („Inspire Art“, Verordnungen Rom I bis Rom III).
