„Vorsicht Dreharbeiten!“ bietet seit 15 Jahren die Möglichkeit, sich mit dem Medium Videofilm zu beschäftigen und die Grundlage der Filmsprache (Kameraarbeit, Ton- und Lichttechnik), der Filmgestaltung und der Filmschnitt (Montage, Ton- und Musikbearbeitung) zu erlernen.
Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene finden adäquate Angebote, um sich mit Videokamera, Schnitttechnik und 3D Postproduktion vertraut zu machen. Außerdem werden Gäste aus verschiedenen Praxisfeldern der Film- und Medienarbeit berichten.
Die Teilnehmer werden in kleine Gruppen, im Laufe des Semesters, mindestens 2 Kurzfilmen selbst produzieren.
Am letzten Vorlesungstag, am Freitagabend, werden die kultigen Kurzfilme aus dem Seminar "Vorsicht Dreharbeiten!" öffentlich vorgestellt: das UniVideoMagazin wird im Sommersemester auf dem Parkplatz 4 der Universität Bielefeld beim traditionellen Autokino vorgeführt und im Wintersemester im Ringlokschuppen veranstaltet.
