Das Forschungsmodul 2 ist insbesondere für Studierende gedacht, die eine Masterarbeit in am Lehrstuhl planen. Aufbauend auf den im Forschungsmodul 1 erlernten Techniken bearbeiten die Studierenden ein eigenes Thema unter individueller Betreuung. Die Themen stammen aus den am Lehrstuhl bearbeiteten Projekten zur strukturellen, funktionellen und vergleichenden Genomanalyse bei Pflanzen sowie zur funktionellen Charakterisierung, Regulation und Lokalisation von Transkriptionsfaktoren in der Modellpflanze Arabidopsis thaliana. Für diese Veranstaltung findet keine Vorbesprechung statt. Themen und Termine (auch außerhalb der Vorlesungszeit) werden individuell vereinbart.
