Die Ringvorlesung wird eine Einführung in die verschiedenen pädagogischen Handlungsfelder Familie, frühkindliche Bildung, Schule, außerschulische Pädagogik sowie die Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung geben. Die Adressatinnen und Adressaten von Pädagogik - Kinder, Jugendliche, Erwachsene, alte Menschen - werden in den Blick genommen und die Grundbegriffe der Pädagogik: Erziehung, Sozialisation und Bildung werden ausgelotet. Damit in Verbindung finden sozial relevante Kategorien wie Ethnizität, Geschlecht, Generation, Biografie und Behinderung Berücksichtigung, die Verschiedenheit / Heterogenität innerhalb pädagogischer Zielgruppen prägen und pädagogische Prozesse beeinflussen. Darüber hinaus werden erste Einblicke in zentrale erziehungswissenschaftliche Forschungsansätze gegeben.
Im Laufe der Vorlesung werden so die Profile des Studienganges und die sie tragenden einzelnen Arbeitsgruppen der Fakultät vorgestellt.
