Das Seminar richtet sich insbesondere an Lehramtsstudierende. Im Seminar werden auf theoretischer Ebene die gesellschaftlichen und individuellen Funktionen der Schule thematisiert, um grundlegende Ansprüche auf Allgemeinbildung zu diskutieren. Neben einer Auseinandersetzung mit grundlegenden Allgemeinbildungskonzepten werden besondere Akzentuierungen für die Primarstufe, Sekundarstufe I und Sekundarstufe II herausgearbeitet. Das Seminar vermittelt daher grundlegende Kenntnisse über die Komposition formaler und inhaltlicher Allgemeinbildungsaspekte im Bildungsgang und ihre Implikationen für Kanon und didaktisch-methodischer Arbeitsweise.

Für eine 'Aktive Teilnahme' wird eine regelmäßige Mitarbeit in den Seminarsitzungen, die Lektüre von Texten zur Allgemeinbildung als Vorbereitung sowie die Bearbeitung von kleineren Aufgaben wie z.B. das Verfassen eine Essays oder einer Textzusammenfassung erwartet.
Benotete oder unbenotete Einzelleistungen können in modulbezogenen Vertiefungsseminaren erbracht werden. Es wird empfohlen sich entweder in der Schreibwerkstatt von Philipp Bornkessel (250053) oder in der didaktischen Vertiefung von Anne Köker (250052) anzumelden, um die Inhalte des Seminars zu vertiefen.
