Diese Vorlesung führt in das Fachgebiet der politischen Anthropologie ein. Dabei werden philosophisch-anthropologische Grundlagen ebenso thematisiert wie die weltweite Variation in Phänomenen wie Macht, Herrschaft, Staatlichkeit, Gruppenorganisation oder Kommunikation. Darüber hinaus werden auch eng verbundene Themen wie Verwandtschaft, Religion und Wirtschaft angesprochen.
