This class will take place in the LernraumPlus and via zoom or panopto.

This lecture-type course will give you an overview of British history from Stonehenge up to the Napoleonic Wars and the beginning of the Victorian Age.

This module is completed by taking part in an oral examination for PM 4 Histories, in which you will be examined on History of the English Language plus two more lectures of your choice.
The Studienleistung in this course, British History, is a worksheet at the end of the semester, which will serve as an opportunity for you to test whether you are ready for the oral exam. - You can do this worksheet EACH semester a few days before the PM 4 oral exams.

Bibliography

Although I do not follow it in any great detail in my lecture, I recommend you buy a copy of Barry Cunliffe, ed., The Penguin Illustrated History of Britain and Ireland, 2004.
