We will discuss ongoing own research projects ("colloquium") as well as "hot topics" discussed within phonetics groups around the world ("journal club"). Each participant is invited to bring in their own research questions and ideas. There is a certain focus on computational and acoustic modeling, phonetics in interactive scenarios, and questions including speech technological applications. But in general, all topics related to speech or its interfaces are welcome to be discussed.
Apart from an active interest in phonetics and/or phonological research there are no formal necessary prerequisites.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
