Räumliche Mobilität wurde von der Soziologie bis vor kurzem hauptsächlich in gesellschaftstheoretischen Analysen wie u.a. der Netzwerkgesellschaft, der mobilen Risikogesellschaft und dem flexiblen Kapitalismus thematisiert und als zentrale Dimension der Modernisierung betrachtet. In der Lehrveranstaltung soll nun räumliche Mobilität in Verbindung mit arbeitssoziologischen Themen und Fragestellungen, insbesondere der Entgrenzung und Subjektivierung von Arbeit, gebracht werden.
Die Themenschwerpunkte des Seminars sind u.a.
- räumliche Mobilisierung moderner Gesellschaften und Ökonomien
- Globalisierung und räumliche Entgrenzung
- Strukturierung und Regulierung räumlicher Mobilität in und von Unternehmen
- Berufliche Mobilitätserfordernisse: Dienstreisen, Pendeln etc.
- Soziale Auswirkungen betrieblicher Mobilitätsregime
- Berufsmobilität und LebensformDie kritische Reflexion der theoretischen Konzepte zu einer „mobilen Gesellschaft“ stehen ebenso im Mittelpunkt der Lehrveranstaltung wie die Diskussion von empirischen Ergebnissen zu dem Ausmaß, den Möglichkeiten und Risiken von Mobilität.

Ein arbeitssoziologisches Grundwissen ist wünschenswert und von Vorteil für die Teilnahme am Seminar.

Die Seminarliteratur wird im Stud.IP elektronisch zur Verfügung gestellt. Zusätzlich wird ein Semesterapparat eingerichtet.

Erwartet wird eine regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung, die Bereitschaft an Gruppenarbeiten und Diskussionen mitzuwirken sowie die vorbereitende Lektüre von Texten.
Eine benotete Einzelleistung kann in Form eines Portfolios, Referats mit schriftlicher Ausarbeitung oder durch eine Hausarbeit erbracht werden.
