996012 Study Group Michel Foucault (StGr) (SoSe 2020)

This course has been cancelled!

Contents, comment

This is a study group for all doctoral students who work with or are interested in Foucaultian theory. We want to establish an institutional context where terms of Michel Foucault and our projects, which refer to them, can be discussed. It can be a chance to create a network beyond this semesters, where texts, experiences, difficulties and pleasures with Foucaultian theory can be shared.

Our focus depends on our practical needs. As a result of a first opinion poll amongst us, we will talk about three terms which play an important role in the late works of "The History of Sexuality", namely 1) dispositive, 2) biopolitics and 3) technologies of the self

We will decide via e-mail about the concrete texts we are going to read together. The language of discussion will be english.
