Ziel des Kurses ist es, die Studierenden durch darauf abgestimmte Grammatik, Wortschatz und Redemittel zum aktiven Sprachhandeln anzuregen und alle Fertigkeiten (Hören, Lesen, Schreiben, Sprechen) intensiv zu schulen. Außerdem werden diverse landeskundliche Themen (Schule, Kultur, Sitten und Bräuche) erörtert. Lebensbereiche und Situationen der Studierenden werden in den Unterricht einbezogen und universitäre Alltagssprache vermittelt.
Die Lernstrategien des Unterrichts sollen die Motivation der Studierenden und autonomes Lernen fördern sowie ihre Diskussionsfertigkeiten trainieren.

Dieser Kurs ist ein Angebot für ERASMUS- und andere Kooperationsstudierende, die ihre Deutschkenntnisse erweitern und vertiefen wollen, über Deutschkenntnisse auf A1-Niveau (nach dem GER) verfügen und auf die andere Kultur und ihre Werte neugierig sind.
