Anhand verschiedener bedeutender Dichter der römischen Kaiserzeit (Juvenal, Martial, Statius) soll in diesem Seminar das vielschichtige Thema Stadt und Land behandelt werden. Es geht um "Fluch und Segen", den die einmalige und unvergleichbare Metropole Rom unter ihren antiken Einwohnern, zumal den Dichtern, verbreitete.
