Die Veranstaltung dient der Einführung in Problemstellungen, Begrifflichkeiten und Theorietraditionen der Wissenschaftssoziologie. Ziel ist es, einen Überblick über die für den Gegenstandsbereich relevanten Theorien zu gewinnen. Daneben sollen die wesentlichen Schwerpunkte und Fragestellungen der Wissenschaftssoziologie vorgestellt werden.
Die Veranstaltung befasst sich insbesondere mit:
- der historischen Ausdifferenzierung und Autonomisierung der Wissenschaft
- den für die Wissenschaft typischen Normen und deren Funktionen
- der Frage nach dem Spannungsverhältnis von Autonomie und Fremdsteuerung von Wissenschaft
- Problemstellungen, die sich aus der Verwendung wissenschaftlichen Wissens ergeben
Die Arbeitsweise im Seminar setzt sich zusammen aus (a) intensiver Textarbeit und Diskussion (b) eigenständiger Bearbeitung von empirischen Kleinprojekten aus dem Gegenstandsbereich der Wissenschaftssoziologie. Ein ausführlicher Themen- und Literaturplan ist vor Semesterbeginn erhältlich.
