In diesem Seminar sollen, ausgehend von theoretischen Überlegungen der Philosophen Walter Benjamin (Der Erzähler), Wilhelm Schapp (In Geschichten verstrickt), Odo Marquard (Narrare necesse est) und Hermann Lübbe (Geschichtsbegriff und Geschichtsinteresse), klassische Geschichten (u.a. bei Homer, im Alten und Neuen Testament, bei Johann Peter Hebel), neuere Geschichten der Gegenwartsliteratur, vor allem aber auch alltägliche Kindergeschichten und persönliche Geschichten auf ihre Valenz für die pädagogischen Arbeit hin untersucht werden. Dies alles gemäß dem Motto des Poeten und Pädagogen Peter Bichsel: „Weil ich erzählen kann, bin ich, und weil ich’s erzählen kann, stehe ich’s durch.“
