Kinderarmut hat in der Bundesrepublik in den vergangenen Jahren erheblich zugenommen. Die Auseinandersetzung mit dem gesellschaftlichen Problem ist für angehende Lehrerinnen und Lehrer von besonderer Relevanz, um frühzeitig eine Reflexionskompetenz aufbauen zu können, und nicht selber ungewollt zur Benachteiligung von Kindern in Armut durch ihr Handeln in der Schule einen eigenen Beitrag zu leisten. In dem Seminar setzen wir uns deshalb mit dem Armutsbegriff und den Folgen der Kinderarmut auf der Basis aktueller Studien auseinander. Die Frage, was Schule zur Verstärkung oder auch Verringerung von Bildungsungleichheit von Kindern aus niedrigem Herkunftsmilieu leisten kann, soll ebenfalls erörtert werden und an Praxisbeispielen reflektiert werden.
