Seit den 1990er Jahren hat die Politik begonnen zu versuchen, die Qualität von Forschung und Lehre zu steuern. In diesem seminar sollen drei Aspekte dieser Steuerungsversuche in den Blick genommen werden: erstens, die Ansätze, wie Qualität gemessen und quantifiziert wird. Zweitens, welche Verfahren und Institutionen entwickelt wurden, um Qualität im Hochschulbereich zu steuern. Und drittens, die nationalen Differenzen bei der Institutionalisierung von Qualitätssicherung.
Das Seminar soll die Studierenden bei der Erarbeitung eines umfangreichen und differenziertes Forschungsfelds an der Hand nehmen und ihnen gleichzeitig die Möglichkeit eröffnen, ihre aktuelle Situation als Studierende besser zu verstehen.
