This seminar will take place as a block at the end of the semester (12.-14.02.2020, room TBA).
We will meet once in CITEC 1.204 on Wednesday, 09.10.2019 14-16 (ct). This meeting is mandatory as seminar topics will be presented and assigned.
With the deployment of robots in complex social environments, like private households, research faces new challenges. In complex and dynamic environments and with tasks depending on the users’ personal preferences, it is not possible to equip a social robot with every skill it might require. Therefore, social robots need to be trained by naive users to adapt to their needs. This entails not only fast and efficient learning algorithms, but also a system that is transparent for a naive teacher that is not an expert of the system.
In this seminar, we will investigate how a social robot could maximize understanding in users. For this we will consider different types of feedback a robot can produce to express:
The seminar will be held in English.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
