Die Veranstaltung geht über ein Semester und bietet einen praktischen Einstieg in die angewandte Bildverarbeitung. Grundlegende Techniken der digitalen Bildverarbeitung sollen theoretisch erarbeitet und in Kleingruppen (4-5 Studierende) implementiert werden. Jede Gruppe realisiert dabei ein kleines Anwendungsprojekt dem Methoden aus der aktuellen Forschung zu Grunde liegen. Die Implementierung erfolgt wahlweise in C oder C++ unter Verwendung von <a href="http://icewing.sf.net">iceWing</a>. Das Projekt bietet eine gute Vorbereitung für Diplom- und Bachelor-Arbeiten im Bereich der Bildverarbeitung.
Die Veranstaltung gliedert sich in einen kurzen Vorlesungsteil, in dem Grundlagen der zu verwendenden Bildverarbeitungs-Software vermittelt werden und einen praktischen Teil in dem die Implementierung im GZI erfolgt.
Besprechung und Vergabe der Themen erfolgt am ersten Veranstaltungstag.Das Erscheinen zum ersten Besprechungstermin ist obligatorisch und entscheidet über die Teilnahme (ggfls. bitte per Email begründet abmelden).
Voraussetzung für eine Leistungsbescheinigung ist neben der Realisierung des Kleinprojekts die Vorstellung der theoretischen Grundlagen in Form eines Kurzvortrags und die Dokumentation der Implementierung.

Die Kenntnisse der Vorlesung "Bildverarbeitung" und der dazugehörigen Übungen werden vorausgesetzt.
