Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Promovierende, die mit ethnographischen Methoden arbeiten. Wir befassen uns zunächst mit den aktuellen methodischen Problemen und Debatten in der modernen Ethnographie und diskutieren darauf aufbauend konkrete methodische Probleme der verschiedenen Dissertationsvorhaben der Teilnehmer*innen. Die Veranstaltung setzt fortgeschrittene Kenntnisse und Kompetenzen der ethnographischen Methoden voraus. Je nach Bedarf der Teilnehmer*innen wird die Veranstaltung in deutscher oder in englischer Sprache durchgeführt.

This seminar aims at PhD students who are using ethnographic research methods. We will first look at current methodological problems and debates in contemporary ethnography. Then we will discuss specific methodical problems that occur in the various research projects of the participants. The seminar requires advanced knowledge and skills of ethnographic methods. The seminar will be offered in the German or English language (according to the language skills of the participants).
