In dem Seminar sollen verschiedene Ideen des Konzepts „Lebenslanges Lernen“ gemeinsam erarbeitet, verglichen und kritisch diskutiert werden. Das Konzept soll dabei aus verschiedenen Perspektiven kennen gelernt werden. Ein Schwerpunkt des Seminars wird darauf liegen verschiedene Verständnisse von Lebenslangem Lernen zu erarbeiten und ihre impliziten Annahmen bzgl. Bildungsideal und lerntheoretischem Verständnis herauszuarbeiten. Ein weiterer inhaltlicher Schwerpunkt wird auf der Diskussion um die Bedeutung Lebenslangen Lernens für die Erwachsenenbildung liegen. Das Seminar wird sowohl in deutscher als auch englischer Sprache abgehalten werden. Gemeinsam werden Diskussionen, Präsentationen und Vorträge in englischer Sprache erarbeitet werden. Am Ende des Kurses sollte jeder Teilnehmende die relevanten englischen Fachbegriffe beherrschen und sich sicherer im Umgang mit Präsentationen in englischer Sprache fühlen. Es wird außerdem erwartet, dass die Teilnehmenden auch Texte in Originalsprache lesen.
