Die Veranstaltung beschäftigt sich mit der historischen Entwicklung von Jugend im 20. Jahrhundert und den sich wandelnden Rahmenbedingungen des Aufwachsens. In dem Seminar sollen Erscheinungsformen und Erklärungsmodelle von Generationsgestalten behandelt und die Generationstheorien der Jugendforschung kritisch diskutiert werden. Beispiele "gängiger" Jugendgenerationen sind Jugendbewegung, Hitlerjugend, skeptische Generation oder 68er Bewegung.
