This is a mixed format course that explores typical language products of sociology. Students develop a concept for a new United Nations project. In a series of activities, which begin in class but are completed independently, students will look at all aspects of the UN's functions and focus groups and develop a programme for social change and/or engagement. The course will use resources from academic works, print and broadcast media. In-class time will focus on negotiation of content, task assignment and review of results.
