Die Methodenwerkstatt stellt ein Beratungsangebot der Abteilung qualitative Methoden zur Unterstützung der Lehrenden und Studierenden bei der Durchführung von qualitativen Lehrforschungen, Abschlussarbeiten und sonstigen empirischen Projekten dar. Sitzungen können in jeder Phase des Forschungsprozesses sinnvoll sein und erfolgen unregelmäßig und nach Absprache. Die Methodenwerkstatt dient vorrangig der Begleitung von konkreten empirischen Projekten und nicht der Vermittlung von methodischen Grundlagenkenntnissen, welche in den einführenden Veranstaltungen erworben werden sollen.
