Als eigenständige Institution wird die Grundschule als Schule für alle Kinder vor dem Hintergrund ihrer Anschlussfähigkeit an Kindertageseinrichtungen und weiterführende Schulen in den Blick genommen. Ein besonderer Fokus dieses Seminars liegt dabei sowohl auf den historischen Entwicklungslinien der Institutionen als auch auf aktuellen Diskussionspunkten. Dazu werden die Originaltexte vor dem Hintergrund ihrer Theorie kritisch und bezogen auf deren Aktualität reflektiert und aktuelle Handlungsfelder analysiert.

Neben einführenden Präsentationen ist das Seminar vor allem durch das Lesen und die Diskussion von Texten und die gemeinsame Erarbeitung und Reflexion des Bildungs- und Erziehungsauftrages der Institutionen des Elementar- und Primarbereichs gekennzeichnet.
