Contents, comment

In this class, we will get a thorough understanding of the concept of multimodal prosody, how it is expressed, and how multimodal expression influences the perception of prosodic functions. We will approach the topic by a thorough literature overview (including an introduction to the methodological hurdles involved in annotating and analyzing multimodal data), and by designing and conducting small scale empirical studies, e.g. corpus studies, production or perception studies, which will be presented and discussed in class.
