Im Fokus der Veranstaltung liegt das Themenfeld „Arbeit und Gesundheit“. Ziel des Seminars ist es, den Studierenden Kenntnisse über den Struktur- und Belastungswandel in der Arbeitswelt, über Akteure und Strukturen arbeitsbezogener Gesundheitspolitik und über die politisch-rechtliche Gestaltung der Arbeitsbedingungen zu vermitteln. Die Studierenden sollen darüber hinaus mit theoretischen Modellen zur Erklärung von Gesundheitsrisiken und -potenzialen in Organisationen, mit Methoden der gesundheitsbezogenen Analyse von Arbeitsbedingungen und mit Interventionskonzepten des Arbeitsschutzes und des betrieblichen Gesundheitsmanagements vertraut gemacht werden.

An der Veranstaltung werden externe Referenten mitwirken, die als Unternehmensangehörige, auf gewerkschaftlicher Seite und als Berater im Handlungsfeld „Arbeit und Gesundheit“ aktiv sind.

Voraussetzung für den angestrebten Wissens- und Kompetenzerwerb ist die regelmäßige, aktive Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung. Die Studienleistung wird in Form einer mündlichen Gruppenpräsentation erbracht, die Prüfungsleistung in Form einer Hausarbeit.
