Selbstbestimmung und Teilhabe sind mittlerweile wichtige Begriffe in der Pädagogik für Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung. Hierzu entstanden verschiedene Konzepte, neue Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten wie das persönliche Budget und Selbsthilfegruppen von Menschen mit Behinderung wie People-First etc. Aber wie sieht die Umsetzung der Selbstbestimmung in der Realität aus? In wieweit können Menschen mit schwerer Behinderung selbstbestimmt leben?
In diesem Seminar werden die unterschiedlichen Konzepte besprochen und die aktuelle Situation in den Bereichen Wohnen, Arbeiten, Soziales und Freizeit besprochen. Gleichzeitig gibt es vielfältige Möglichkeiten einen Einblick in die Praxis zu bekommen durch Teilnahme an Freizeitangeboten für Menschen mit Behinderung in der Neuen Schmiede in Bethel.
