This is Part I of a course that will focus on developing students’ abilities to understand and express their opinions about the world around them: their interests, places of work or study, and additional topics of current interest. The course will make use of a variety of resources including a textbook, print and broadcast media. In-class time will focus on communication practice and discussion. There will be an intensive classroom phase before the semester begins.

The coursebook (plus CD) can be purchased from the instructor at the beginning of the course. Price : EUR 19,50 (includes a 25 % discount).

Requirements for participation, required level

Successful completion of Englisch für leicht Fortgeschrittene, level A2 or C-Test of the Language Center (for dates please see

Prior students have priority of enrolment, followed by International students and then others.
