An Beispielen der Lyrik aus der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts vermittelt die Einführung die wichtigsten Grundlagen literaturwissenschaftlichen Arbeitens und der analytischen Verfahren bei der Beschäftigung mit Gedichten.
