250131 Homeschooling als Herausforderung an die Schultheorie (S) (SoSe 2018)

Homeschooling, oder auch Home Education, bezeichnet einen „Bildungsansatz, bei dem Kinder in ihrem eigenen häuslichen Umfeld lernen, anstatt eine Schule zu besuchen“, und dabei in der Regel durch ihre Eltern, seltener aber auch durch andere, „der jeweiligen Familie zugehörige oder nahestehende Personen“ begleitet werden (Spiegler 2008, S. 11). Diesen Ansatz wollen wir im Seminar zunächst genauer analysieren und zu verstehen lernen, bevor wir uns im Anschluss daran der Frage widmen werden, ob – und wenn ja, wie – mit klassischen Texten der Schultheorie auf die verschiedenen, das Prinzip der Schule zumeist radikal in Frage stellenden Argumente der Homeschooling-Bewegung reagiert werden könnte.

Bei diesem Seminar handelt es sich ausdrücklich um ein Lektüre-Seminar. Im Mittelpunkt der Seminararbeit wird also das gemeinsame Lesen und Diskutieren diverser Texte stehen: von Homeschooling-Ratgebern über empirische Einzelfallanalysen bis hin zu Klassikern der Schultheorie. Für eine „Aktive Teilnahme“/Studienleistung wird daher – neben einer regelmäßigen Anwesenheit und Mitarbeit in den Seminarsitzungen – insbesondere die sorgfältige Lektüre von Texten zur Vorbereitung erwartet. Möglichkeiten zur Absolvierung einer benoteten oder unbenoteten Modulprüfung werden in der ersten Seminarsitzung erläutert.
