Das Seminar dient der Vermittlung und Vertiefung der relevanten Grundlagen zur römischen Geschichte, die den Hintergrund für die jeweiligen Epochen und Phasen der römischen Literatur bildet und für das Verständnis von deren Entstehen und Entwicklung unverzichtbar ist. Gleichermaßen fokussiert werden sollen die wichtigsten philosophischen Richtungen, wie sie über die Jahrhunderte hinweg in vielfacher Weise Einfluß auf die Literatur der Römer genommen haben.

Die jeweils relevanten Texte werden zur Verfügung gestellt.
