Der ‚Wigalois‘ des Wirnt von Grafenberg stellt – wie bei Artusromanen üblich – einen Ritter der Tafelrunde in das Zentrum des Erzählens. Da es hier um Wigalois geht, den Sohn des idealen Ritter Gawein, stellt sich die Frage, ob mit der nächsten Generation der Helden auch eine neue Form des höfischen Romans verbunden ist.
In diesem Seminar sollen zentrale Kapitel des in Mittelalter und Früher Neuzeit sehr beliebten Romans exemplarisch im mittelhochdeutschen Original gelesen, übersetzt und besprochen werden.
