Gegenstand der Kognitionspsychologie ist die Erforschung von Prozessen, wie dem Denken und dem Gedächtnis, dem Vorstellen oder dem Problemlösen zugrunde liegen. Die grundlegende Methode ist das Experiment. Aber das, was im Experiment gemessen wird ist äußerst unterschiedlich. In diesem Seminar sollen einige der wichtigsten Methoden genauer beleuchtet werden. Dazu gehören Reaktionszeitmessung mit der Stoppuhr, Blickbewegungsmessung mit dem Eye-Tracker, Gehirnstrommessung mit dem EEG oder bildgebende Verfahren mit PET oder MRT. Führungen sind beabsichtigt. Die Beschreibung der einzelnen Verfahren wird illustriert mit klassischen oder neuen Veröffentlichungen in der Kognitionsforschung.
