Die Laborübung dient der Einführung in die Projekte der Arbeitsgruppe, die sich mit der cyanobakteriellen Anpassung an Eisenmangel und der Redoxkontrolle in Cyanobakterien. Im Vordergrund dieser Laborübung steht die Einarbeitung in die entsprechenen Techniken und die Bearbeitung eines kleinen individuellen Forschungsprojekts.
