Das Seminar beschäftigt sich zum einen mit der Beschreibung und Analyse syntaktischer Strukturen des Deutschen und zum anderen mit syntaktischen Theorien und ihrem Bezug zum Deutschen.
Im ersten Teil des Seminars werden die für die syntaktische Beschreibung und Analyse grundlegenden Kategorien und Verfahren behandelt. Die einzelnen Kategorien und Analyseverfahren werden im Seminar vorgestellt und exemplarisch anhand ausgesuchter Beispiele erläutert.
Im zweiten Teil des Seminars stehen syntaktische Theorien im Mittelpunkt. Es geht u.a. um die folgenden Theorien: Valenztheorie, funktionale Grammatik und Generative Grammatik (Rektions- und Bindungstheorie, Minimalismus, Optimalitätstheorie). Die syntaktischen Theorien werden im Seminar vorgestellt und vor dem Hintergrund ihrer Beschreibungs- und Erklärungsadäquatheit diskutiert.
In welcher Form ein Leistungsnachweis erworben werden kann, wird in der ersten Seminarsitzung bekanntgegeben.
