300009 MA - Abschlusskolloquium (30-M-Soz-MA Soziologie Abschlusskolloquium MA) (Ko) (SoSe 2019)

Contents, comment

The purpose of this research colloquium is to help developing, implementing, and publishing quantitative empirical research. Both MA students as well as BGHS/PhD students are invited to present and discuss their research at all stages of their project. That is, participants can present their first research ideas and intended research designs, but also their final empirical results, and all steps in between. Graduate students are invited to use the course as a forum for practicing conference presentations and to get feedback on manuscripts before submission to a journal. The research colloquium is open for students of sociology, social psychology, political science, demography, public health, economics, and statistics.
Participants of the research colloquium are expected to present their research during the semester, but also to actively discuss research projects of other participants. Students interested in quantitative research without a research project of their own are also welcome. In single cases, the course may also contain training classes discussing quantitative methods of general interest to the participants of the course.
