Die Vorlesung behandelt zunächst die einzelnen Schritte dessen, wie man bei einer wissenschaftlichen Studie vorgeht: die Entwicklung der Fragestellung, die Fertigstellung des Erhebungsinstruments, die Befragung einer Stichprobe und die Analyse und Interpretation der Daten. Anschließend wird die graphische Darstellung von Variablen besprochen. Den Hauptteil bilden die statistische Analyse einzelner Variablen (z.B. Mittelwert) und die Untersuchung von Zusammenhängen zwischen mehreren Variablen. Zudem wird der Umgang mit dem Programmpaket SPSS gezeigt.
