Die Lehrveranstaltung findet als 8-tägiger Block an der Litoralstation der Biologischen Anstalt Helgoland in List/Sylt statt. Die Studierenden lernen während der ersten zwei Tage charakteristische Elemente der Makro- und Meiofauna des Wattenmeeres kennen. Anschließend führen sie in Zweiergruppen fünf Tage lang selbständig auf der Basis aktueller Publikationen entwickelte Freilandexperimente durch. Zur Auswertung gehören statistische Testverfahren; der Leistungsnachweis besteht in zwei im Zusammenhang mit dem Experiment stehenden Vorträgen und einem Protokoll in Publikationsform. Die Veranstaltung findet während des gesamten Zeitraumes ganztägig statt. Die Veranstaltung findet in Kooperation mit der FU-Berlin statt.
