Die Problematik des gerechten Kriegs hat eine alte und fragwürdige Tradition. Doch erlebte sie in den letzten Jahrzehnten eine unerwartete Aktualisierung unter dem Druck einer universalistischen Ethik.
Die Veranstaltung soll diese historische Entwicklung nachvollziehen. Insbesondere wird es um die Frage gehen, ob es überzeugende Argumente gibt für oder gegen eine humanitäre Intervention in Ländern, in denen die Menschenrechte verletzt werden.
Für eine Leistungsbescheinigung (im BA-Studiengang) werden zwei Kurzessays, für einen Leistungsnachweis (im Magister- oder Lehramts-Studiengang) wird eine Hausarbeit erwartet.

BA-Studiengang: Abschluss des ersten Studienjahres.
Magister- und Lehramts-Studiengänge: Zwischenprüfung. .
