Moderne Gesellschaften sind bestimmt durch die Institution des Privateigentums. Das Seminar fragt nach dem moralischen Status dieser Institution: Ist es moralisch geboten, dass Menschen etwas zu eigen haben können? Ist es moralisch verwerflich - "Eigentum ist Diebstahl"? Oder ist es moralisch egal und nur durch die Staaten so festgesetzt? Die klassische Diskussion dieser Frage findet sich in der Philosophie der frühen Neuzeit, bei Grotius, Locke und Kant. Das Seminar soll diese Diskussion aufarbeiten und so eine begründete Stellungnahme zu der Frage möglich machen.
Für eine Leistungsbescheinigung (im BA-Studiengang) werden zwei kleinere Leistungen (ausgearbeiteter Diskussionsbeitrag, Protokoll, mündliche Prüfung etc.), für einen Leistungsnachweis (im Magister- oder Lehramts-Studiengang) wird eine Hausarbeit erwartet.
